• Question: how many planets are similar to earth so we could live there

      There is a list that NASA maintain, which has 17 very habitable planets on there. This is based on things like the gravitational field, the intensity of light and the temperature.

      There was a study in 2013 which showed over 40 billion potential planets – but we can’t currently get enough information on those to see how ideal they are.

      Great question! Your question has directed me to the Planetary Habitability Laboratory which is a research and educational virtual laboratory, dedicated to studies of the habitability of Earth, the Solar System, and extrasolar planets. According to them, there are 55 potentially habitable exoplanets: 1 Subterran (Mars-size), 20 Terran (Earth-size) and 34 Superterran (Super-Earth/Mini-Neptunes).
