Thanks for your question! Well, my undergraduate degree was in Music, and I was originally intending to be a professional musician (I play the clarinet). But by the end of my Music degree I realised I was really interested in how we hear sound, and I wanted to study the psychology of music instead — so I needed to start making the switch from music to psychology. The masters degree I took was partly taught (classes, assignments), and partly a research project (like a small version of a PhD). The taught part was musicology, but for the research part I did a music psychology study. So my masters degree was really nice way for me to gradually make the shift from music to psychology — a sort of half-and-half 🙂
